Sekhmet, Goddess of Healing

Sekhmet, Goddess of Healing, is one of the Favors in the game Immortal Redneck. Sekhmet is the most durable Favor, with a bonus 9 points of Defense and 10 points of Speed and abilities to both increase and recover the Redneck's maximum health. However, this comes at a cost to the Redneck's power- with a hefty 30% penalty to Attack power, Sekhmet grants the lowest damage of any Favor by a sizable gap. While the weapons she grants are not particularly weak or strong, the substantial penalty to attack power can make Sekhmet difficult to use until a large number of levels have been put into the Attack node of the Skill tree. Also, since her active skill transforms gold and ammo into health, she is a poor character to use when trying to earn more gold to put into the Skill tree, or when ammo is an issue. However, she is an excellent Favor to use when either trying to learn enemy patterns, or once the skill tree has been filled out completely and the player doesn't need much gold anymore, as she grants far more durability and staying power than any other Favor.

  • Damage Multiplier: ~0.15
  • Magazine Size: N/A
  • Ammo Capacity: Infinite
  • Reticle Bloom: None
  • Effective Range: Medium-short

Double Pistols[ | ]

Description: A pair of pistols which fire in alternation. Has a higher fire rate and slightly more ammo than the basic Pistol but is otherwise very similar.

  • Magazine Size: 12
  • Ammo Capacity: 55

  • Effective Range: Medium-long

Phoenix[ | ]

Description: A hand wrap which summons tiny phoenixes that chase down enemies. As the phoenixes simply home directly in on enemies, they will not account for walls in the way and must be used with that in mind. Best used point-blank to force every phoenix to connect with the same target.

  • Damage Multiplier: 0.5
  • Magazine Size: 1
  • Ammo Capacity: 9
  • Reticle Bloom: None.
  • Effective Range: Very Long (but best used Point-Blank)

Abilities[ | ]

Active skill: Transforms all visible pickups into small steaks. This can transform normal steaks into small steaks, lowering their healing, so be careful.

Passive skill: Every time a new room is entered, the Redneck's maximum health will increase for the remainder of the run.

Skill tree upgrade: Increase to the per room max health bonus.

Stats[ | ]

HP: No change (However, ability results in max HP continually rising as the pyramid is cleared)

Attack: -30% penalty

Speed: +10 point bonus

Defense: +9 point bonus

Strategy[ | ]

The Ankh that Sekhmet grants is a handy fallback, with reliable damage and no limit to ammo, and with the significant damage penalty, the player might find themselves forced to rely on it. The Double Pistols and Phoenix are reliable weapons, but ammo can be an issue. The Double Pistols have a higher rate of fire than the basic Redneck's Pistol, but are otherwise largely identical. The Phoenix, contrary to what its design might suggest, is best used point-blank, like a shotgun- this forces every one of the phoenixes to hit the intended target and doesn't risk the questionable homing AI causing some of them to miss. When used this way, the Phoenix becomes a highly damaging, reliable close-range killer. Good weapons for Sekhmet are those with large ammo reserves and high damage- since she grants so much defensive presence, having weapons that support that defensive focus is redundant and can cause issues because of the high damage penalty. Sekhmet is designed for patient players- if you want a more aggressive style that maintains the staying power and recovery that Sekhmet provides, then Ammit is likely a better choice.
